1) What is Coppermine?
Coppermine is a PHP/MySQL based photogallery which is freely available under the GNU GPL License You can view the copyrights, credits and also an online manual direct from their website.

2) What is GAI?
GAI stands for GalacNet Auto-Installer. It is developed by GalacNet to allow users to instantly install a php software (eg. Coppermine) without having to mingle with the actual installation and configuration process.

3) If Coppermine is free why do I need this service at all?
The use of the software is free but you need a webhosting account or a server to run it and also know how to configure it to work. Rental fees for a webhosting account or a server depends on how much your provider charges you.
GalacNet allows you to run your gallery Free and with no limitation of space*.
Numerous upgrade options gives you more benefits as you expand your site.

4) What are the other benefits of having a gallery here?
The GAI system is intregrated into Coppermine allowing to to directly pull templates and install them right from your admin panel.
GalacNet does not limit you to the amount of space* or bandwidth* that you need to operate your site.

5) What is the * I see at point 3 and 4?
Sadly there is no such thing as unlimited storage or bandwidth. The server is however uncapped and we upgrade your account as your site expands. Giving you enough storage space to meet your requirements.

6) What if i use up what you can provide?
If a photo is 1mb in size and takes 10 seconds to upload, 1gb will take you almost 3hours to upload and 1 tetrabyte will require 3000hours! (125days of continuous no rest clicking... and 1 million pictures... )
Our current "title holder" has only around 15,000 photos loaded, consumes less than 5gb and has been running for more than a year. ( Info as of Sept 2007 )
